Helical

Helical gears are the typical choice for projects that are also suitable for spur gears but have non-parallel shafts.

Straight

Straight cut, or spur, gears are the simplest type of gear. Unlike helical gears, straight cut gears make full contact each time they mesh together.

Bevel

Bevel gears are gears where the axes of the two shafts connect, and the tooth-bearing faces of the gears are conically shaped.

Rack

Rack gears are used to convert rotating motion into linear motion. These gears have straight teeth cut into one surface of a square or round section of rod and operate with a pinion.
